Cliff House Inn On the Ocean

I love this beautiful quaint little place. The view is breathtaking and the rooms are adorable. They are small but have everything you need for a nice quiet stay. Nice restaurant attached, but be sure and check their hours and times when open. I've stayed here four times and it's one of my most favorite places to stay when I'm in the area. Can't beat the view.

This is a cute little Inn off the 101. I started in a King room that faced the ocean. The view was beautiful. The windows open on both sides of the room to make a nice ocean breeze flowing through. There's a nice big pool too.

The trick with this place is to temper your expectations. It is old. It is right on the water. Those two things conspire to make it expensive to upkeep, which translates into expensive to stay. The rooms themselves are actually not bad, but there is a severe lack of power outlets, which is expected of these old hotels. The bathroom lacked hanging space and clearly hadn't been updated in some time. Probably the most disappointing things are the bed linens, which were clean, but scratchy and getting so old as to be looking a little threadbare in places. Nothing that a good makeover of all linens couldn't fix, hopefully to include properly sized shower curtain liners as ours was embarrassingly undersized. But despite all the little faults with the room, the staff were super helpful and friendly and really went out of their way to accommodate our request for a dessert and wine by the water. And who can argue with that location! it's an incredible view and is the perfect spot if you enjoy just listening to the waves crash into shore. As I was able to take advantage of credits from my credit card, the price we paid felt right for what we got. I would be a bit hard pressed to pay full-fare for the rooms unless they make a few updates.

It is an older style hotel. 3 floors, no elevator. That said, the location is second to none. Right on the beach and the restaurant is OUTSTANDING!

This has the feel of a magnificent movie set in the forties. On the edge of the ocean with crashing waves next to a grand pool. Outside dining or breakfast was delightful. I want to return someday. Old but lovely.

This is our favorite spot to stay!! We always sleep so good! You can hear the ocean from every room! The food at the Shoals restaurant is the BEST!! Great wine selection too!

I wanted to share a quick story. Recently had to cancel my trip due to the LA fires keeping me off the freeway. I explained my situation to the staff and they worked with me to secure a replacement date. They did not have to do this! Not only did they reschedule on short notice, but Sandy upgraded me to a ground level ocean front room at no extra charge. I had an amazing two nights and had excellent meals at the Shoals restaurant. This is my fifth time staying here because of the location but now I even appreciate it more thanks to their care for customers and service. Thank you Vincent and Sandy

This is the first time that i can remember enjoying a vacation without feeling price gouged and taken advantage of throughout my trip. It was so relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed every single facet of our stay here. Every room has a view and a free and delicious hot breakfast on Fri-Sunday stays was a perk! At this time vacationing is a luxury for me, so I'd like to personally thank the hotel owners for keeping prices so affordable! Everyone else staying there had nothing but good things to say, were in continual jovial moods with big smiles and realxed attitudes. As i'm tryping this, im already missing it and cant wait to come again! Great staff as well! Thank you for a much needed mini vacation!... from 2 broke girls in SoCal!
